Description:
Please make a gallant attempt to forget what you have learned about menopause in the past. It’s been almost 25 years since the Women’s Health Initiative “report” set peri- and postmenopausal women’s health back 100 years. Enter the “NEW MENOPAUSE”  era –  new definitions and new treatments. Barb will discuss the latest information on the diagnosis and answer the question: Do we really have to wait until we haven’t had a period for 12 months to determine our menopausal status? You will learn that treating hot flashes and night sweats is not just for comfort’s sake — it’s also to reduce certain risks in major body systems. While we’re on the topic of hot flashes, Barb will give you some insight as to how long they will last.

Learn all the ways that hormone replacement can be administered, in what doses, why it might be with or without progesterone and what role your uterus plays in HRT. Barb will discuss the treatment of complications of menopause, including osteoporosis, vasomotor symptoms, and genitourinary symptoms. Barb will answer the age-old questions: Does hormone replacement therapy cause breast cancer? Blood clots? Cardiovascular disease? Are there any alternative therapies that can help?

Join Barb for HOT TOPICS in the “new” menopause…the 2025 update. It’s new information, FACT-based, full of treatment tidbits, and critical to the health of women over 50!
