This fall, some provinces have decided to stop changing between daylight and standard time, opting to remain on one time year round. So far, British Columbia and Alberta have confirmed, with other provinces like Manitoba considering it.
Because our webinars originate from Alberta, where the clocks will no longer change in the fall and spring, this will impact the start time in your location if Daylight Saving Time is still observed and your clocks do change.
Our webinars will always start at 10:00 UTC-6 (also known as “Mountain Daylight Time”, “Central Standard Time”, and for some “Alberta Time”).
See below for a table of start times. Because time zones do not always follow provincial boundaries, we have provided some cities as examples instead of provinces.
Consistent Start Times
Because most of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Yukon will not be (or already are not) changing clocks semiannually, the webinar start time will be consistent throughout the year.
| Example City | Start Time Year-Round |
|---|---|
| Vancouver | 09:00 (UTC-7) |
| Whitehorse | 09:00 (UTC-7) |
| Edmonton | 10:00 (UTC-6) |
| Regina | 10:00 (UTC-6) |
Variable Start Times
The rest of the country will continue to practice Daylight Saving Time, so the start time will vary depending on the time of year.
| Example City | Start Time When on Standard / Winter Time | Start Time When on Daylight / Summer Time |
|---|---|---|
| Yellowknife | 09:00 (UTC-7) | 10:00 (UTC-6) |
| Winnipeg | 10:00 (UTC-6) | 11:00 (UTC-5) |
| Toronto | 11:00 (UTC-5) | 12:00 (UTC-4) |
| Montreal | 11:00 (UTC-5) | 12:00 (UTC-4) |
| Iqaluit | 11:00 (UTC-5) | 12:00 (UTC-4) |
| Halifax | 12:00 (UTC-4) | 13:00 (UTC-3) |
| St. John’s | 12:30 (UTC-3:30) | 13:30 (UTC-2:30) |
International Visitors and Additional Information
We can’t possibly provide specific info for each locale, so if you are unsure, here are some tips:
- Our webinars will always begin at 10:00 in UTC-6 timezone.
- You can find your specific UTC offset, use a time calculator, and more at Time and Date.
- Remember to consider the exact date of the webinar when calculating your UTC offset and/or the start time in your timezone. If your region switches between standard and daylight time, your specific start time will also switch with it.
On-Demand Webinars
If the time of the live event doesn’t work out for you, remember that every webinar becomes an on-demand webinar. If you miss the live event, don’t worry – your registration always includes the on-demand recording at no extra cost.
Register in advance with confidence. You’ll never miss the webinar entirely, even if you can’t catch it live.
The recording is usually posted on the Webinar Hub within 2 hours of the live event ending.
