Objectives:

1. Master the lifesaving role of vasopressors and inotropes in acute heart failure and cardiogenic shock.
\n2. Unpack the beta-blocker revolution\u2014from \u201cnever use\u201d to \u201cmust use\u201d in heart failure.
\n3. Demystify RAAS (Renin Angiotensin Aldosterone System) blockers and discover how they truly transform heart failure care.
\n4. Navigate the antidysrhythmic landscape\u2014know the go-to agents and when to use them.<\/p>\n

Description:
\n<\/b>This webinar will cover crucial drugs that are used primarily in critical care settings, but also in cardiac, intra-operative, post anaesthetic and medical surgical settings. These drugs often carry life-saving interventions and can be key for restoring hemodynamic stability. When used, the nurse is most often responsible for safe titration, monitoring, assessing risk for harm and understanding the prospect of adverse effects.<\/p>\n

Our cardiac nursing expert, Christopher Coltman, RN, BScN returns to teach the role and management of of vasopressors and inotropes; and review the beta blocker revolution in heart failure. He\u2019ll also help demystify RAAS blockers and their use in heart failure, and help you understand the antidysrhythmic agents – which ones are the go-to agents and when to use them. This will be an exciting session for critical care nurses who are motivated to take their knowledge to the next level!<\/p>\n

\nChristopher Coltman, a graduate of the UofA Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, has been engaged in cardiac and cardiovascular surgical nursing for over 33 years. He has worked in a variety or settings and countries, including Montreal, London (England) and in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He has extensive experience in the area of acute coronary syndrome, heart failure and cardiovascular surgery. Chris is well known as an excellent teacher, having over 20 years of teaching experience, and has taught a number of sessions on a variety of topics where his passion for teaching and cardiac care shows. He is currently the Clinical Nurse Educator in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
