Objectives:

1. Have reviewed the prevalence of ADHD and coexisting conditions occurrence.
2. Understand the implications of untreated ADHD as it relates to patients with coexisting conditions.
3. Have Increased confidence and expertise in the diagnosis and management of coexisting conditions with ADHD.
4<\/span>. Will evaluate both nonpharmacological and pharmacological methods for treating patients with ADHD and coexisting conditions, ensuring a well-rounded approach to care.<\/p>\n

Description:
\n<\/b>A surprisingly high number of individuals with ADHD have other coexisting conditions. The overt symptoms of ADHD may overshadow these other conditions, but just as untreated ADHD can present challenges in everyday life, other conditions or disorders can also cause unnecessary suffering in those with ADHD if left untreated. The combination of ADHD with other disorders presents extra challenges for families and healthcare providers. Join Dr. Gurdeep Parhar<\/strong> in this follow-up to his previous excellent Adult ADHD webinar, where we’ll discuss coexisting conditions, how to sharpen your detection of them, and pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods for treating ADHD with coexisting conditions.<\/p>\n

Dr. Gurdeep Parhar is a Clinical Professor in the UBC Faculty of Medicine, where he has also previously served as Associate Dean and Executive Associate Dean. He has formerly held the positions of Associate Head and Acting Co-Head of the UBC Department of Family Practice. He is the Medical Director of the Adult ADHD Centre which has performed over 13,000 assessments of adults with ADHD across Canada.\u00a0 Dr. Parhar\u2019s clinical practice, teaching and research focuses on patient communities struggling with visible and invisible disabilities. Dr. Parhar has been recognized with the UBC Killam Teaching Prize, BC College of Family Physician\u2019s Teacher of the Year Award, University of Calgary\u2019s Alumnus of Distinction Award, Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada National Equity, Diversity and Gender Award and the Canadian Medical Association\u2019s National Award for Professionalism and Medical Ethics.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
