This webinar will provide you with the tools needed to assist your client in maintaining or restoring optimal glucose control using insulin. You&#8217;ll learn about the main types of insulin, how to initiate injectable therapy, and incorporate established best practices and safety measures. Joyce works in the Endocrinology Department at CIUSSS-Jewish General Hospital, a McGill University hospital in Montreal. \u00a0Her main focus is patient education and self-management skills in the ambulatory clinic and for in-patient units as a consultant. She has responsibility for nursing staff education in diabetes each month. As an Instructor for the School of Nursing McGill University for many years, she has supervised undergraduate and graduate students interested in diabetes and ambulatory care. Joyce received awards locally, from the Government of Canada, and twice from the Department of Nursing and was entered on the 30-year honour roll in 2021.\u00a0 Joyce has been a volunteer for Diabetes Canada in a variety of roles at national and local levels including membership at the Montreal chapter since inception and eight years on the executive. Additionally, four times it was named \u201cOutstanding Chapter of the Year\u201d. She received the 20-year Length of Service pin in 2013.
