Description
\n<\/b><\/b>Obstetric anesthesia and analgesia must be concerned simultaneously with the lives of intricately connected patients – the mother and baby (ies). Obstetric anesthesia and analgesia is devoted to peripartum, perioperative, pain and anesthetic management of women during pregnancy and the puerperium. A perfect outcome is always expected when providing safe passage for both the mother and her fetus from antepartum to postpartum period. This webinar will review the risks and benefits, contraindications, and potential complications of the various modalities for labour analgesia and Cesarean Section.<\/b><\/p>\n

\"\"Dr. Kristine Marmai, BSc, MD, FRCPC<\/strong><\/p>\n

is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at the Schulich School of Medicine, and staff anesthesiologist at London Health Sciences Centre. She completed her Doctor of Medicine degree in 2005, and obtained her FRCPC certification in 2010 after completing her anesthesia residency at The Schulich School of Medicine at Western University in London, Ontario. Following residency, she completed a clinical fellowship in Obstetric Anesthesia at Western. She contributes to many educational initiatives within the department and beyond, having special interests in medical education and mentorship, and is an active member of the Postgraduate Medical Education Committee. She was awarded \u201cResident Mentor of the Year\u201d in 2019, and \u201cResident Teacher of the Year\u201d in 2021.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
