\n<\/b>Current studies put Canadians at the top of the list for the highest cannabis use world-wide. Does it follow that Canadians also have the highest rate of problematic use of cannabis? Can “problem use”\u00a0 be considered Cannabis Use Disorder? This webinar presentation by Dr.Zachary Walsh will explore this issue and also how co-occurring conditions can impact cannabis use. Despite widely positive reports of medicinal uses of cannabis, potential harms can still be associated with its use and will be identified.\u00a0 Finally, Dr. Walsh will discuss how intersecting aspects of identity can impact use of cannabis and also how to approach reducing or preventing cannabis related harms.

Dr. Zachary Walsh, PhD, R. Psych<\/strong><\/p>\n is a clinical psychologist, a Professor of Psychology at the University of British Columbia, and a Research Affiliate with the BC Centre on Substance Use.\u00a0 Zach is the director of the Therapeutic, Recreational, and Problematic Substance Use lab at UBC and the Head Supervisor for the UBC Problematic Substance Use Clinic.\u00a0 He has published and presented widely on topics related to cannabis, mental health and psychotherapy.\u00a0 He has been lead investigator for several ongoing studies of the therapeutic use of cannabis including a clinical trial of cannabis for PTSD, and ongoing studies of the impacts of cannabis legalization of cannabis and of cannabis use among Canadian First Nations.
